Bray Hockey Club would like to remind our members including our players, coaches, volunteers and supporters to behave in a manner consistent with our club culture of being an inclusive, safe and respectful environment for all.
Integrity, fairness, and respect are lifetime values taught through sport and in turn are also the principles of good sportsmanship. With them, the spirit of competition thrives, fueled by honest rivalry, courteous relations, and graceful acceptance of the results.
If you are participating in a match as a player or coach, we encourage you to exemplify the highest moral character, behaviour, and leadership;
- Setting a good example for your team-mates and supporters
- Respect the integrity and judgment of Contest officials. The officials are doing their best to help promote you and your sport. Treating them with respect, even if you disagree with their judgment
- Avoid the use of profanity or obscene language, or improper actions
- Treat opponents the way you would like to be treated, wish them good luck before the match and congratulate them in a sincere manner that you would like to be greeted following either victory or defeat
For our supporters, should you choose to attend a game in person, we remind you, that as our supporters, you are representatives of our Club and should behave in a manner consistent with our club culture. We encourage enthusiastic support but to always maintain respectful behaviour.
