Following the recent awarding of a grant and a lot of work in the background, Bray Hockey Club is excited to announce the commencement of a Hockey ID team in 2023. We are still finalising the details but are excited to finally get this underway and delighted to work closely with our community partners, Lakers in launching this team.

Hockey ID is the adapted format of hockey for players with an intellectual disability and has been played in Ireland for the past 6 years with teams across the country taking part in training and blitzes. Ireland has also been well represented in the Euro Hockey ID Championships over the years.

Hockey ID is open to players ranging in age from about 5 to 22 years, but there is no upper age limit. Our Hockey ID players for important members of our club and help us to lead the way in being more inclusive and offering hockey to all whilst offering both mental and physical health benefits.

Bray HC are now seeking Coaches and Volunteers to help us get our new Hockey ID team, “Bray Lakers” off the ground.
