Bray HC Junior Hockey Update - 29th January 2021
In light of the government announcement this week that restrictions will remain in place until 5th March, we would like to update you with our plans for junior hockey. During level 5 we are unable to facilitate any junior training but we are cautiously optimistic that we will be able to resume in March. Under normal circumstances the hockey season runs until the end of March. We are currently exploring options to extend the season to ensure that, despite the current lockdown, all juniors would receive a comparable number of sessions to other years. The logistics of this needs to be considered and approved in conjunction with your coaches so please bear with us while we explore the options.
We have had some queries in relation to subs or suspension of payments and would like to clarify the situation. The club has a yearly membership model, and payments can be made in full, or spread across a number of months to relieve financial stress. At this point in the season, the large majority of payments have now been made in full. Training for all junior members has been provided in full up to December and whilst there is no training at the moment, we do hope to get back on the pitch as soon as restrictions have relaxed. The club has also incurred full costs for these services along with the annual costs associated with running a club of this nature. In the interest of fairness and equity, along with the expectation that hockey will restart again in March, we have not made any changes to the current payment system, or suspended any remaining monthly payments. The finances will be reviewed at the end of the season as we will have a clearer picture of our costs and what we were able to provide to our members and any shortfall of services will be evaluated then. At present however, we do hope to fulfil our commitment to our members.
We do understand that these are unprecedented times and different families are in different financial situations. If you are experiencing financial difficulty, we would ask members to contact us to let us know as we would not want to add any further stress.
On a lighter note, we will be running a 'Design a club Mascot' competition for all our juniors and hope to see some super designs! You can read more about this in our club newsletter which you should receive in the next few days.
Please do not hesitate to contact us in relation to this as we would be happy to discuss this further.
We hope you are all safe and well.
